“SWIM LESSONS SAVE LIVES” tees are now available for preorder in honor of Norah Giroux. Proceeds will go to Norah’s Waves - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for swim safety & childhood drowning prevention.
Norah's Story: On June 12, 2023, two-year-old Norah Lynn Giroux slipped out of the house and drowned in the family pool. Though she was not seen for only a minute or two, her family quickly learned that drowning can occur in as little as 20-60 seconds. While she was able to be revived, her brain went without oxygen for too long, and on June 15, 2023, Norah went to Heaven, saving the lives of three people by donating three of her organs.
What is Norah's Waves? Norah’s Waves is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization honoring the life and legacy of Norah Giroux through swim safety awareness, scholarships, community outreach, education, and childhood drowning prevention efforts. They also provide support to deaf and hard-of-hearing children in honor of Norah’s deaf culture. Drowning is the number one cause of death in children ages 1-4, but it is preventable with the right protective measures in place. Norah’s Waves is dedicated towards helping families learn to implement these safety practices. Together, we all can end childhood drowning. Their mission is to prevent other children from this tragedy and other families from this unbearable grief.
